BOVLJEK OBSERVATION TOWER
The tower offers an exceptional vantage point for observation of the surrounding panorama, as well as Slovenia’s tallest mountain Triglav in the distance.
The floor plan of the tower is triangular, which enables optimal stability and utilization of space.
The articulation of the timber facade and the design of the supporting steel structure are inspired by the surrounding forest – allowing the tower to almost disappear closer to the ground. The facade consists of a composition of vertical timber planks that densify towards the top of the tower, creating a suspenseful scenography of the path.
