Red Bench is an intervention in the central atrium of the City Plaza business complex in Zagreb. The project builds upon an existing bamboo island, a popular place for employees to relax and gather, transforming it into a distinct and recognizable spatial feature. A continuous red ring encircles the green island, creating a dialogue between architecture and nature while strengthening the identity of the entire atrium.

The bench accommodates a variety of uses, from casual seating and informal meetings to more private conversations within semi-enclosed booths. Set against the neutral backdrop of the office environment, the vibrant red color acts as a landmark, bringing energy, character, and a strong visual presence to the space.The intervention is conceived as a system of prefabricated steel segments mounted onto the existing concrete structure. This approach ensures precise fabrication, efficient material use, and a streamlined installation process. Through a minimal yet strategic intervention, the project significantly enhances the quality of the public space, providing employees and visitors with an inviting setting for relaxation, social interaction, and informal work.
